Félix has been involved with McGill University’s Formula SAE team since 2014, and has worked in Canadian Formula 1600. He will resume his studies upon finished his year-long placement at both the Renault Sport Formula OneTM Team and INFINITI Technical Center.
What is it about automotive and motorsport projects that ignites your engineering passion?
In motorsport, it’s the competition aspect combined with the complexity and high level of technology. Building cars that are at the forefront of technology to compete against other teams is what ignites my passion.
What has struck you from a personal and engineering point of view since you began your placement at INFINITI / Renault Sport Formula One Team?
I think the complexity of F1 struck me the most. Many of the teams have more than 400 people working towards the common goal of building the fastest and most reliable race car.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Working as a lead engineer on a global and ambitious motorsport or automotive project.
Biggest positive impact in life?
My parents had the biggest positive impact on my life. They sparked my curiosity and my desire to learn, inspired me to be optimistic and encouraged me to adopt a positive attitude.
Most looking forward to about living/working in the UK?
The UK has such a rich history of technical innovation in motorsport and automotive engineering. I’m looking forward to being a part of it.
