Jaden Partridge at the Australian GP

At the conclusion of the INFINITI Engineering Academy challenges, Asia-Oceania and Academy Engineer Jaden Partridge secured his place to be part of the Renault Sport Formula OneTM Team Race Team onsite at the Australian Grand Prix.

Starting as race engineer for Nico Hülkenberg during the Simulator Challenge, Jaden then went on to compete against three of his fellow engineers in the Hybrid Challenge. For this second challenge, Jaden and Riccardo Manfredini teamed with Jolyon Palmer and progressed to the third and final challenge.

For this last challenge, held during the Formula OneTM testing in Barcelona, the two finalists acted as Performance Engineers for the Renault Sport Formula OneTM Team. Although both Riccardo and Jaden performed well, Jaden left an impressive mark on the judges and was selected as the winner of the INFINITI Engineering Academy challenges, securing the opportunity of a lifetime to work behind the scenes as part of the team in Australia.

During Jaden’s time in Australia, the race team welcomed him and truly made him feel like one of them. He was even invited to join the team’s traditional pre-race dinner – what a privilege!

“I never thought that the first ever Grand Prix that I attended would be with a team. I was so lucky to be successful in the competition, as I know that any of the other Academy Engineers could have won. I gained a rare insight behind the scenes in Australia… from strategy meetings to the driver debriefs, I heard it all and took the opportunity to analyse what attributes I need to attain to ‘make it’ as an engineer in the pinnacle of motorsport.

“I am so appreciative not only for my placement, but for all the additional opportunities that I have experienced so far through the INFINITI Engineering Academy.”

A big well done to Jaden and all of our INFINITI Academy Engineers for completing the challenges!
